It was a cold, rainy Saturday morning. I got up and went downstairs expecting to see my family in the kitchen. But instead, i saw something very shocking. No one was there. I checked every room, but they were nowhere to be found. Even my dog was gone! Oh wait, shes at the vet... So I called their phones. No one answered. Great. I did what any scared teenager would, and I called the police.
"911 What's your emergency?"
"Hello, my parents and brother are missing. Help?!"
"Ma'am what is your address?"
"70 Marrieten Rd."
"The cops are on their way."
I waited for what seemed like hours. Finally they showed up.
"Excuse me ma'am, but if you don't mind me asking, why aren't you at school?"
"What are you talking about?! It's Saturday"
"No ma'am. It's Monday October 31st."
Thats when it hit me. My parents & Brother are at school and work. After I cleared things up with the police I went inside. I looked at my phone.
"Anna, you missed school. If you need anything call us -Dad"
The rest of that day i watched tv and just relaxed. It turned out to be a good Halloween. (;

An Outsiders View...(:
Have you ever felt left out or not wanted? Well that is how a black stable-hand named Crooks felt. Nobody wanted to talk or hangout with him because of his skin color. That happens still to this day. In middle school there were always "cliques" and everyone belonged to one. Not me. I didn't fit in with anyone. It was a really hard thing to deal with. Luckily one day, a girl named Rileigh told me to sit with her. Ever since that day, she has been one of my best friends. She moved in seventh grade but we still keep in touch. Because of her I became more social and met new people. If I rewrote the book Of Mice and Men, I would make a character come to the ranch and help Crooks be more social and be a very respected man. I think everyone belongs somewhere. You just need to be social and put yourself out there. (:
